Building Services Engineers’ Day at the Budapest University of Technology

“Smart Home and Efficiency” was the motto of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics’s Building Services Engineers’ Day on 25 November 2021. For many years, the programme has been a professional training, conference and exhibition for building services engineers.

Dr Tamás Csoknyai, Head of the Department of Building Services and Mechanical Process Engineering, presented the topics of smart buildings, nearly zero energy buildings and smart metering and gave an overview of the new challenges of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. He reported on the results of the Hi-Smart curriculum development project supported by the Erasmus+ programme, whose two main target groups are students of higher education institutions and the building services engineering profession.

As a result of the curriculum development, the Department of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Process Engineering of the university has launched several new courses: Intelligent Buildings, Dynamic Simulation of Buildings, Renewable Energy Sources in Building Services Engineering.

Two other partners of the project, the Technical University of Kaiserslatuern and the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, also participated at the conference and presented the short intensive training curriculum.
